But they support the troops

Sgt. 1st Class Jeff Due, right, a U.S. Army recruiter, is surrounded by protesters at Seattle Central Community College, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Seattle. After about a 10-minute standoff during which protesters tore up U.S Army literature, the protesters were successful in getting Due and another recruiter to leave their table under escort by campus security officers.

It's shit like this that makes me think that if the protesters can't play nice, we should go back to the days of water hoses and rubber bullets.

Actually, what we need is more military personnel at these functions and less security forces.

Let's allow these protesters to come in direct contact with the military that they hate so much. This would be a wonderful opportunity to prove to the world that they are more than just loud-mouthed, latte-drinking, neo-hippy, poetry readers.

I'm sure most of them would be able to kick a trained soldier's ass, right?

On a slightly different note, after looking at the picture I've concluded that being young and ugly must be prerequisite to protesting.

Good to see the spirit of tolerance is alive and well there.

OK then, if the military is not wanted at these establishments of Higher Education then all Federal funds to these institutions should be cut, including Pell grants and Federally subsidized student loans. If the Feds played hard ball in this way, I suspect the Universities would crack down on this garbage.

That was recently fought and lost in court.

There is a federal law called the Soloman Amendment on the books that allows the fed to hold back federal tax dollars if they don't allow military recruiters access to their campus. They sued and won in the federal appeals court. (Third circuit)

The next day Harvard Law School went back to banning recruiters.

It all happened rather recently too. Here is a story from December 1.

Pardon my language, but...

I wonder what number of these spineless community college assholes realize that the military they protest against is the force which helps ensure the liberty the enjoy.

What a bunch of spoiled little bastards!

I was so pissed-off that on the last comment I couldn't even spell the word "they"!

I'm sure that John Kerry and Jane Fonda are very proud of the legacy they have created.
