Quick thoughts on the 2006 elections

After it became clear that Democrats won the House, Stephen Colbert called it quits. Hilarious.

I'm amazed that Democrats were able to gain so much traction without taking a stance on anything other than they hate President Bush.

Oh, and two words for those who would push the Dems to impeach President Bush: President Cheney. [And Re-elect President Cheney in 2008. Re-elect President Cheney in 2012. :) ]

How long before the Democrats start pushing their leftist agenda: higher taxes, cut and run in Iraq, gun control, expensive social entitlements, minimum wages, amnesty for illegal aliens, global warming regulation, etc?

Where are all the stories about election year shenanigans? When Republicans win we get stories of rigged voting machines, voter fraud, and scaring black people away from the polls.

Where are the UK Headlines asking how could 54,000,000 Americans be so smart?

Have the terrorists won? Its only a matter of time before we get the next Osama video praising Americans for electing Democrats.

Will Alec Baldwin move back to America now?

Will the Angry Left be supplanted by the Angry Right? Only time will tell.

"Will Alec Baldwin move back to America now?"

Didn't McCain say he'd kill himself?

Initiating the impeachment process would lead to an investigation that would implicate lots of people in the Bush administration who are guilty of committing crimes, including Cheney.

In addition, no matter who we get to replace Bush (Nancy Pelosi as third in line), well be showing those in power that anyone who breaks the law will be held accountable.

Well, it only takes a moment to help convince Nancy Pelosi to Impeach..

The day the nation demands impeachment is upon us. Sacks and sacks of mail are about to arrive in Nancy Pelosi's office initiating impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That's where we come in. In addition to a House Resolution (635), or the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

You can initiate the impeachment process and simultaneously help to convince Pelosi to follow through with the process. Do-It-Yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.

Jodin -

Initiating the impeachment process would lead to an investigation that would implicate lots of people in the Bush administration who are guilty of committing crimes, including Cheney.

Care to fill us in on some of these crimes, as well as perhaps a few of the "lots of people"? Your inspiring, non-partisan website seemed to mention no specifics at all...

Jefferson Manual? Is that the document which states that Democratic members of that name are allowed to hide bribe money in deep freezers with no consequences?

...and the moonbats come out of the woodwork.

What are they going to do if she doesn't move for impeachment?

Jodin,

I suggest you read the Constitution. The House can impeach Bush all they want. It only takes a majority to approve the impeachment. The Senate then has to convict. It takes 67 senators to convict. I don't think the Dems have that many in the Senate. Did I mention the Chief Justice John Roberts oversees the trail? Now who nominated him?

Go educate your moonbats on the law.

amnesty for illegal aliens

Um I'm sorry but wasn't that Bush's idea?

Posted by: salvage at November 12, 2006 10:48 AM

Salvage,

Yes, and it was a republican house that prevented it. Now, there is nothing standing in Bush's way.

I enjoy seeing the way some people feel so strongly about something even though they don't know much other than what they have been told to believe (Jodin). I wonder what the donations to his/her website really support - what specifically are the expenses of "efforts to Impeach Bush" for which donations are used? Jodin's car and house payments maybe?
