You've got questions, we've got answers

SayUncle wants to know what's on my nightstand. I hate to disappoint, but there's nothing really too exciting.

  • Alarm clock
  • Lamp
  • CD Player
  • Folder of CDs
  • TV Remote

That's it. If you were expecting more, that's too bad. Okay, I know, that's not the point of the question. I used to keep a handgun on my nightstand as a "backup" gun. But I put it away figuring that a wussy handgun isn't going to be much help, if this can't do the job:

12 gauge, pump action, 18" barrel, folding stock, 1 in the chamber, 5 in the mag, 5 in the bandolier.

That looks like some kind of 45mm semi-automatic assault machine shotgun. That thing is so scary, I believe you could probably use it to take out an aircraft.

I think we should ban it.

Heh. Only gripe with shotguns is that they're hard to navigate through small hallways with.

Trust me, with a folding stock and 18" barrel, they're just fine. And you don't have to be quite so accurate as you do with a pistol.

May I ask what that is exactly? I am no shotgun geek.

It's a Mossberg Maverick 88. It cost $200 and came with a 26" and 18" barrel. I replaced the regular stock with a pistol grip and folder, and added the shotshell holder.
