Some medals or written commendations should be handed out; these people performed a valuable public service.

I was born and raised in Detroit. Live far away now but not far enough. That city has become an open sewer. I remember the early 70s when the police made an overt attempt to stop street crime; a special squad called STRESS was formed to entice criminals and arrest them in the act. And they did. But the local media and politicians would not have it because it was RACIST.

Why was it racist? Most of the cops were black and so were most of the criminals. But becasue blacks were "poor" they were being "victimized" by the police. The city emptied out thereafter. Population fell from 2 million to under 1 million today.
