There is no problem with allowing public displays of religious symbols, but as a Jew, I have a problem when the government spends my tax dollars on a creche, or a Hanukiah for that matter.

I don't think fiscal responsibility is just a Jewish thing. Some of us gentiles would rather they watch their spending too.

How about some good-old Judeo-Christian, traditional celebration? That would be very nice (and quite refreshing) if it were minus the litigation, legislation and politically-motivated secular whining.
