Eight states are hoping to use the police powers of the government to force their power companies to lower their carbon dioxide emissions. They claim that the power companies are number one boogy man responsible for global warming and the impending doom that will befall the earth as witnessed in the prophetic action movie The Day After Tomorrow.

The lawsuit does not seek monetary damages, but rather asks a federal judge to order the companies to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions at 174 plants by 3 percent per year during the next 10 years. Spitzer said that shouldn't mean that the companies would need to raise prices.

Of course that's all bunk. Carbon dioxide is what plants breathe and these so called friends of the environment want to deny them their precious life giving air. I am shocked, I say shocked, to hear that they would choke off the very substance that all plants must have to sustain life.

Besides, any idiot can see that the real culprit is the sun, which is burning brighter now than at any time during the past 1150 years. The increased sun spot activity and increased brightness would have a severe impact on the warming of the earth. Then again, they can't sue the sun.
