The United Nations is demonstrating it's irrelevance again. CNN is reporting that their forthcoming ruling on the wall that Israel is building comes down on the side of the (surprise) terrorists.

"Israel is under an obligation to terminate its breaches of international law; it is under an obligation to cease forthwith the works of construction of the wall being built in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, to dismantle forthwith the structure therein situated."

Apparently Israel's attempt to defend herself is in violation of some international UN law. I didn't even realize there were international laws. I knew that the United States and other nations have voluntarily agreed to abide by some international treaties, but the UN seems impotent to impose it's will on us or any other first world nation with the power to defend herself. (If it came down to it, I think our boys could make easy work of those blue helmet guys.)

Personally, I think Israel's response should be a raising of the right arm and an extension of the middle digit on the right hand. Either that, or in the immortal words of Dick Cheney (to Patrick Leahy), "Go fuck yourself!" Perhaps then, after 12 years of empty resolutions and threats, the UN will beg the United States to step in and put a stop to the construction.
