The RIAA has been suing 12 year old girls, grandmothers, and countless others for unauthorized listening of their music. Now they are seeking permanent protection from countersuits, and some senators in Congress appear more than happy to give it to them. It's amazing what a few hundred thousand dollars worth of bribing lobbying will do.

Abscam proved it doesn't take hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy a congressman. A hundred will do. No price is too low if nobody's bidding higher.
