RIAA sues 12 year old

iconLike I said the other day, I think the Recording Industry Ass. of America is shooting themselves in the foot with these lawsuits. One of the people they are suing is reportedly a 12 year old little girl. Brianna LaHara faces fines of up to $150,000 per infringement. The RIAA's President Cary Sherman calls the lawsuits an appropriate reaction to theft.

How long before public outcry forces some changes in the law?

UPDATE: Apparently the RIAA recognized this as a potential PR nightmare. They've settled with the family, for $2000. (She probably won't be receiving her $4 weekly allowance now for the next 10 years.)
