That was pretty funny. But there is a perfectly logical refuation of the "we license cars, why not guns" argument:

Cars are licensed for use in public. You don't need to license a car in order to own one, and you don't need to license it if you're not going to drive it on a public street. So, if you're going to insist on licensing my gun, then by this logic, you are telling me that it's legal to carry it in public.
